I'm, personally, excited for this!!!
Jamie knocked his former training partner on his ass, and proved he is back in the game, and is taken Seriously! Though i dont know the whole story between them, but i can say this, Drew Fickett seemed upset with Jamie before this fight and had a lot to say about him on Youtube and other sites, but that bit of trash talk didnt get in the way of Jamie's determination! Jamie dropped Fickett just seconds into the fight and finished him! Jamie, as a long time friend and training partner of Fickett, was nothing less than completely respectful and appreciative of Fickett's friendship, career and talents.
Back In 2010, Jamie ran into a string of very talented and rough opponents while having tough times himself!
Since the end of 2010 and early 2011, Jamie has put together a nice set of wins scoring 3-2 in his last 5, while facing notable opponents!
Dana White has given the opportunity to fill in for Evan Dunham, who was supposed to face Edson Barbosa at UFC 146.
Edson is a ready, fast and very tough opponent and has made a nice run so far in UFC being still 10-0, but he also does not have the experience of Varner, and hasnt faced the same competition as Varner.
This is gonna be a great fight, a great showing, and a sweet opportunity for Jamie!
Varner has huge momentum in getting this shot and Barbosa better be ready...as im sure he will be!
UFC 146 is still shaping up to be a BadAss card, even after all the injuries and TRT upsets!!! lol!
