Maurice Smith is now 50 years old and just fought on march 30th 2012, Beating his opponent, a newbie at a record of 4-2 going in. But Maurice at age 50, and still fighting, thats amazing!!!
I dont know who remembers the talent this guy has faced over his career!!!
We are talking Randy Couture 1997, Beating Marco Ruas twice in 2007 and 1999, Renato Sobral in 2000 and winning! Bobby Hoffman 2000, Renzo Gracie 1999, Branco Citatic 1999, Kevin Randleman 1999, He was amongst one of the few to Beating Tank Abbot in The UFC in 1997 at UFC 15!!!!!, Mark Coleman lost as well just 3 months earlier!! 2 losses to legend Bas Rutten, and 1 loss to Ken Shamrock in 1994-1995 respectively...
Maurice is a beast, and still at age 50 showing he is still competing with the new dogs that learn the WHOLE game rather than when he started, when they picked and choosed what to use....it was a different game back then!!
Maurice has our respect for competing in the game today and finding a way to take top form against a newer "smarter-gamed" opponent in today's MMA world!
