Well, WEC and Pride have long ago become an after thought.....
Strikeforce is about to take an inevitable turn to the same fate!!!
What will happen with Josh Barnett? and Daniel Cormier?
Josh will most likely not be brought to the UFC, due to his bad relationship with Dana White!
Daniel Cormier, on the other hand, could be Dana's golden child in the sport!!
There is no way Daniel Cormier is headed elsewhere!! He has proven to be a shining Talent in the sport and needs to be seen on the big stage!!
Glover Teixeira Makes a sick display in his UFC debut, while Rampage, Shogun and maybe some others have ducked fighting him, talking of him being a newbie, and the fight isnt worth enough....
Glover steps in with Fabio Maldonado(spelling) and doesnt do as well as his debut showcased of him!!
Meanwhile, Rampage came out the gate running his mouth, and called out Glover, now calling out someone else as well, after turning down TUF 17 vs Chael Sonnen! WTH??
2012 has Dwarfed 2009 in injuries, i couldnt even give a count, been so many!!!
Main Events ruined, huge cards brought down to the size of a card that wouldnt be acceptable on FUEL TV! ex...146!! Was to be a huge card as was toppled by injury!!! and it didnt end there!!
i almost had to wonder if some of the fighters were trying to give the perverbial "FU" to the big man!!!
We all know he has too many demands, and does like to play boss over everyone....
2012 held 2 huge fights, upon many more, that got called off due to such feeble BS reasons!!!
Alistair Overeem vs Junior dos Santos! UFC 146 ! Overeem testing positive!!
Nick Diaz Testing positive for Marijuana and getting suspended caused a huge ruckus in what wouldve been a monumental year for the big leagues!!
What was good in 2012, what has made a nice/big change?
The heavy weight division has made some sweet changes outside of the injuries!!
Stefan Struve subbing newbie, Miocic, and solidifying himself in the Heavy Wt Division, Dana Calling him No.5!!
The return of, and rebirth, some might say of Fabricio Werdum! Coming back into UFC to mangle Roy Nelson, to who i thought he wouldve had a rough time with, being Roy has such a great chin, but continued to beat the daylights out of Roy!! Then KO'ing Mike Russow, which i also though might have done well and showcased some skill with Werdum, but got knocked the Fudge out!
He is definitely someone to watch in his next assault!
And, Of course, The fall of Brock Lesnar, which most fickle fight fans thought he was unstoppable, who seemed to be bully in the sport, running around after fights and causing WWE like havoc in the cage! He squeaked by a gassed out Shane Carwin after surviving a 1st round that some called it over with, but the Ref never called it, hmm....Then Stepping into face Cain Velasquez, a supreme striker at that time and looked to be the wrestler that may be able to outbrawn a brock or outstrike him, the Latter had came, and Brock completely got his ass handed to him after being dazed and stumbling acrossed the cage with damn near summer-saults, lol...Cain hand picked shots that Brock couldnt muster the talent to avoid and fell to his back and got KO'd!!! Viciously!
Brock Returned to face Alistair Overeem, who had 5 times or more the experience, anyone who saw Brock winning was nearly a moron! especially after seeing Brock shy away from punches in the cage, Overeem did pass tests for this fight and ruined Brock in seconds! One swift knee and Brock hit the deck, only to see the same fate he did in the Cain fight, and probably shouldve seen in the Carwin fight!
But i guess thats what it takes to be a 'Hall of Famer' lol, 5-3 makes you a hall of famer? sorry fans, his popularity made him that, not his fighting talent!
Another cool fight recently in the dying Strikeforce....Nate Marquardt vs Tyron Woodley
Nate said before the fight if i can take him to the 3-5 rounds i can break him! And Nate did just that in top form fashion! Tyron looked like a newbie in there with Nate! But, thats why you can never count out someone with that kind of experience and technique!
I, personally, see Nate being back in the UFC after the swallowing of Strikeforce!!
Another fight that was supposed to happen out of Strikeforce was Gilbert Melendez vs Pat Healy!
did anyone see Pat Healy having a chance? I, honestly saw Josh Thomson beating Melendez in their last bout, but how could Pat enough to game with either of them, its a damn good thing that fight didnt happen!! A total mismatch!!
A Question i have for MMA/UFC right now, where does Josh Thomson go now?
is he entering the UFC? with his last performance, i say, all the way!!!
What do you think?
