An inside look at Frank Mir vs Daniel Cormier! The Comparison!

Im going to start off by comparing their styles.

Striking....

Frank(striking) He has KO power, but look uncomfortable doing it! i have always felt he needs a boxing coach to better help him with jabs, angles and power strikes and some timing.

Daniel(strikes) Also has KO power, great at getting inside and out with opponents with longer reach, and is a naturally talented athlete in this skill! What he excels in, very little does he lack!

Wrestling....

Frank(Wrestling) He has always been a GOOD wrestler, but lacks where he makes up in Ground work(Submissions) But he is more likely to get to the ground due to being out there rather than being the aggressor!

Daniel(Wrestling) NCAA Div 1, Olympic 2004, 2008, Finishing 4th place, but injured.
Cormier's Wrestling is sick! After slamming Barnett, and using Barnett's weight against him in doing so, says a lot about Cormier! His Short frame and lower center of gravity only aids his style as a Striker/Wrestler.
The only thing that can hinder a Cormier is an Athlete with supreme takedown defense, and a jab better than Lennox Lewis!! Or a submission expert on his feet, wt..f??? because Cormier has great TD Defense as well!

Submissions.....

Frank(submissions) BJJ submission PRO! His resume says it all, and his UFC notoriety as well! (Sylvia and Noguiera's broken arms and Brocks near Broken leg! and many other examples....

Cormier(submissions) While having 1 submission to his record via 'rear naked choke' 2 others have 'tapped to strikes' from DC! Cormier is not a submission expert but we can expect that to be in his repetoire in the next year or two! At this point his submission defense hasnt really been looked at closely, because his overall stand up and wrestling has kept him out of that realm!!

At first glance.....

Frank Mir tends to start slow and sometimes finds himself in a rough spot before heating up and making things happen! Which i have always thought that he needs to go in a fight with the approach of "urgency!!"
Get in there and go off immediately! But that can be detrimental to a fighter's attack as well, so i guess this is the tough spot Frank finds himself in. Which also calls for Frank to employ a Boxing, Striking specialist to aid his Good knee and decent kicks. Mir needs much improved offense to get into a top situation again(title fight) i personally feel that his has been too back and forth lately and now is the time for that change, but will he do it?

Daniel Cormier Comes out the gate testing and pushing his opponent, which is gonna be hell for a fighter like Frank, Example....the Carwin fight! Frank didnt see it coming but yet waited for it to happen. Cormier can easily do the same! Cormier outstrike's Frank's well behind stand up style, and KO's him like JDS, imho....

Another thought.....

Frank has been given another chance to get back on the map, does he do what he needs to get the job done? He mentioned in his postfight that he felt he needed to be more active early in the JDS fight, which he did, though it didnt have an amazing effect, he didnt wait for JDS to mangle him before acting on it, which he should do in a Cormier fight, work on countering skills and catch Cormier off guard.

Cormier, from the outside looking in, has everything, in my opinion, to take this match where he wants it to go, and win by his choice!!

I never count Mir out, but winning this fight after seeing both fighters' performances and rituals than lean toward in a fight, this is Cormier's world! And he is on a train ride that Frank cant stop!!
