Being that the Zuffa owned Strikeforce Heavy Weight Division is about to disappear, we can take a look!!
Cain Velasquez has come from Strikeforce long ago, for those who didnt know, and he has done quite well!!
Alistair Overeem destroyed Brock Lesnar then shortly after failed a TRT test with a 14:1 ratio! WOW, like no one wouldve guessed that after 2010!!! WTF!!
Fabricio came over after losing to Alistair, but yet beating Fedor and Antonio Silva! and looks to be amazing at this point coming off an easy win over Russow and Nelson!!
Antonio Silva got destroyed by Cain Velasquez! in round 1!!
Lavar Johnson does nicely against Beltran and Barry, but Loses Big to Struve! Struve is a much bigger opponent than both!
Shane Del Rosario: breaks opponents in Strikeforce then gets sidelined with a car accident, and makes his UFC debut to get Defeated by UFC up and comer Stipe Miocic!!
What the hell is going on with Strikeforce Fighters?
Could be UFC early jitters, its certainly possible!!!
Lets take a look at some cool match ups that could be great for SF fighters entering or continuing a UFC career.....
Antonio Silva Coming off nasty loss to Cain Velasquez, could be matched up to Brendan Schaub or Roy Nelson!
Shane Del Rosario coming off bad loss to Stipe Miocic, could face Shane Carwin or Mike Russow! Russow being Preferred!
Lavar Johnson beating a few UFC's lower guys such as Pat Barry and Joey Beltran, should do nicely in a rematch with either!!
Fabricio doesnt have anything to prove other than ruining some of UFC's Talent at this point!
After retraining with Rafael Cordeiro, also early trainer of the Axe Murderer!
Other than that, we can look at Josh Barnett, who is coming off a nasty loss to fellow SF opponent, and Gran Prix Participant/Replacement of Alistair Overeem, Daniel Cormier!!
Daniel Cormier, who seems to fear no opponents at this point, could be placed against Carwin, Werdum, Mir, Del Rosario(not likely), Miocic, Overeem(if he gets another shot in his tough spot) im sure he will!
Daniel Cormier and Fabricio Werdum seem to be the only worthy opponents coming from Strikeforce!!
Just a quick assessment, what's your thoughts?
Werdum's recent comments after his win over Russow.....
Werdum used the overwhelming crowd support as extra motivation to earn his victory over Russow, who had never before been knocked out. Now, the former Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion looks toward his next fight. Though his opponent and fight date are both currently unknown, Werdum says he will get back to his training regimen in short order and begin his preparation.
“I’m just going to rest for one week. Then, I will go back to training again,” said Werdum. “I’m just going to wait for what the UFC says.”
